if you want beautiful and healthy skin, cleaning of the face is essential. And since we always prefer to put our “best face forward,” here are several tips that we compiled on how to properly wash your face.

1. First you'll want to wash away make up and cosmetics from the face. Through the use of a moisturizer you'll protect your skin and avoid it from becoming damaged.

2. Many people use hot or cold water to clean their skin, which may end up in skin becoming dryer. You must always wash the skin with likewarm water, doing so will open the pores and allow for deeper cleansing.

3. Avoid strong or harsh soaps/ cleansers. Strong soaps can dry your skin and strip off natural lipids. Choose soap that are mild if you prefer soap, or you can always choose cleansers which are soap- free, non- comedogenic, and mild like Cetaphil, Burt Bee's or Neutrogena.

4. When massaging the face don't rub to hard, this will cause more harm. You need to gently rotate your fingers upwards.

5. When you have used a soap or cleanser, ensure you have washed away any residue. Not doing so can lead to your pores becoming clogged, ideally you ought to rinse at the very least three times.

6. Once washed you should pat the skin dry, you should not rub your face!

7. Use an alcohol- free toner on your face. It should make your face feel smooth and refreshed. Astringents and toners with glycolic or alpha hydroxy acids work the best for toning the face. These acids actually can reduce the pore size, and help avoid ingrown hairs. They are aggressive and have quick results. Remember to look for a product that is not photosensitive (sensitive to light).

8. The final step is to use a moistourizer, these will help to restore your natural oils that have been lost. For the very best results use a product which has the least amount of chemicals. You do however want to only use a light moisturizer. If you ever do need an intensive treatment then you should use pure vitamin E or Aloe Vera.

Those are eight simple steps that will help you keep your face clean and beautiful. Start today for a more refreshed and beautiful you.
